The Spirit of the Game

  1. Players should always display cooperation and sportsmanship
  2. Never forget that your opponent is also a fellow athlete on the court
  3. Players exhibiting poor sportsmanship will be removed from the game by the directors of the league.
  4. Any spectators or coaches exhibiting poor sportsmanship will also be removed from the court area by the directors of the league.
  5. All players must remove all jewelry before the gameAll players must have a team game shirt to participate.

The Game

Game Length: Each quarter will be 7-minutes running clock. Timers will be provided by the league. The clock will stop at the end of the 2nd quarter and the end of the 4th quarter.  Half-time will be two minutes.

Timeouts:  Coaches will be given two timeouts per half. Timeouts do not carryover. 

Playing Time: Substitutions will be made at the halfway point of every quarter. No player will sit for two consecutive substitutions. If a team does not have 10 players in a particular game, no one player can play the whole game. 
If a team has 8 or 9 players, no one player can play more than two consecutive shifts without sitting. 
 

Overtime: If overtime is needed the overtime period will be 2 minutes in length and the coach can use any five players they would like. Substitutions can be made on all dead balls and foul shots. The clock will stop during the overtime period as well. Each team will have one timeout during overtime.
Coaches: Each team will have one head coach and one assistant. Only two coaches will be allowed to sit on the bench during the games. Only the head coach will be able to stand during the game. The head coach will be the only coach able to communicate with the officials. Assistants can only communicate with the head coach.
Equipment: All baskets will be 8.5 feet and the ball will be 28.5
Injuries:  If at any point a player is bleeding, they must be removed from the game and have the wound cleaned and covered. First aid kits will be made accessible by the league.

Playing Rules:

Dribbling: Players will be encouraged by coaches and referees to follow all rules for dribbling in the game basketball. Some leniencies will be granted but all are encouraged to try to follow all dribbling rules. Violations will be called after two warnings.
5 Second Lane: Lane violations will be called after a player has been in the lane for more than five seconds. Coaches and refs will encourage players to keep moving in and out of the lane.
Jump ball: All games will begin with a jump ball and then a possession arrow will be kept at the scorer’s table for all subsequent jump balls.
Fouls: All players will be allowed five fouls. After five fouls they will be eliminated from the game. Players will shoot two shots if they are fouled in the act of shooting. T There will be no two shot fouls after 10 team fouls. All players fouls will be kept at the scorer’s table. If a player receives a technical foul, they will be required to sit the rest of the half. If they receive a second technical foul they will be ejected for the remainder of the game and will receive a one game suspension. If a coach receives a technical foul they will be required to sit for the rest of the game on the bench. If they receive a second technical foul they will be ejected from the game. These rules will be enforced by the league directors.
Backcourt Violation: Each team will have 10 seconds to cross half court.
Defense:
Only man to man to defense will be allowed. No zone defense.
Steals will be permitted off the dribble or pass.
Free Zone: Defensive will not be allowed to guard their player until they pass the three-point line. All the area outside the three-point line is known as the free zone area. Defense will not be able to play defense in that area. Referees will control the free zone area by giving reminders to the defense. Coaches are also encouraged to remind their players of the free sone area.
Once the defense gains possession through a rebound or turnover the offense must retreat behind the free zone and play defense. No steals in the backcourt are allowed.
Full court press is not permitted Defense will be allowed to half court press the last two minutes of the game and the entire overtime period.

Miscellaneous:
Games may not be protested.
Teams may start the game with four players and if more arrive they may be used in the game. The opposing team will be required to play with four players as well. In the event that a team has five players and one fouls out, the disqualified player can remain in the game. Every subsequent foul by the disqualified player will result in a called technical and procession of the ball. If a team a team has three or less players, the game will be a forfeit.
If a team is winning by more than 20 pts the scorer’s table will not display the score anymore, but the game clock will be displayed. The official score will be kept at the scorer’s table in the book.
